How Do I... Pay
 County Personal Property and Real Estate taxes
You may pay by cash, check or money order. Please make check or money order payable to the County of Mecklenburg. Payments may be mailed to P.O. Box 250, Boydton, VA 23917 (please do not send cash in the mail). You may pay in person at our office located at 311 Washington Street, Boydton, VA 23917.

Traffic Tickets & other offenses
For instructions on paying Traffic Tickets and other offenses, visit the Virginia Courts website at www.courts.state.va.us/caseinfo/tickets.html or you may contact any Mecklenburg County Court by dialing 434-738-6191 and choose one of the following extensions:
For a Building Permit (or an electrical, plumbing, mechanical, etc. permit)

Permit fees for most building permits are calculated by utilizing the square footage of a structure or a minimum fee is charged for smaller structures. This fee covers the building, electrical, plumbing and mechanical permits associated with that building.

Permit fees for alteration work are calculated by the total cost of the work to be done.

Permit fees for electrical, plumbing, Mechanical, Demolition, Boathouses, Swimming Pool, etc. are calculated with standard fees.

Methods of Payment: Check or cash (Note: do NOT send cash with mailed applications).

The permit technician will need the following information to determine a permit fee:

The type of work for all permits,

The total cost of the work for all permits, and

The square footage of the structure for all building permits (for accurate fee calculation, please have the square footage separated into conditioned areas, unconditioned areas, porch, deck, garage )
