Virginia Southern Railroad is operated by the Buckingham Branch Railroad (Virginia Southern Division), on track leased from Norfolk Southern. It provides shortline service from an interchange with Norfolk Southern at Burkeville, to the towns of Chase City, Keysville, and Clarksville. Current customers include Dominion Power (Mecklenburg Power Station), Smurfit-Stone Container Corp. (Keysville), and Alderman Railcar Services (Keysville).
