Juvenile Court Services

Hudgins Court Facility EntranceMecklenburg County is served by the 10th District Juvenile Court Services Unit, which is an agency of the Virginia Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ). It is the DJJ's mission to protect the public through a balanced approach of accountability and comprehensive services that prevent and reduce delinquency through partnerships with families, schools, communities, law enforcement, and others, while providing opportunities for delinquent youth to become responsible and productive citizens.

Services Provided

  • Civil Intake including custody, visitation, DNA testing, and child support.
  • Protective Orders involving juveniles or family/household members.
  • Juvenile Intake, including petitioning the court for acts of delinquency (acts which would be criminal if committed by an adult) or status offenses committed by persons under the age of 18.
  • Diversion of matters that are not appropriate to go before the Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court.
  • Supervision of Juveniles that are placed on probation or parole.
