Board of Supervisors

Mecklenburg County is governed by a nine-member Board of Supervisors elected by voters within the district in which the member lives. Supervisors serve a four-year concurrent term and the Board elects its chairman and vice chairman each year at the Board’s organizational meeting in January.

The Board adopts the annual budget, adopts and enforces ordinances, appoints certain county officials, appoints members to various boards and commissions, and levies county taxes.

The Board of Supervisors meets monthly in the Board of Supervisors Meeting Room in the County Administrator’s building, 350 Washington Street, Boydton. The meetings are normally held the second Monday of each month. In the months of March, June, September, and December the meetings are begin at 7:00 p.m.; the rest of the months the meetings begin at 9:30 a.m.
